MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR PORTABLE MIXERS
.0 - Mixers shall be gear drive design with an output speed of 400 rpm, or 264 rpm. Gearing shall be a single set of forged and precision ground (AGMA 9) helical gears rated at 4.5 hp at 400 rpm and 3.0 hp at 264 rpm. The same gears and bearings shall be used on all sizes from 1/4 to 3 horsepower.
.0 - Mixer housing shall be cast heat treated aluminum with all coupling components housed internally. An access door is provided for ease of service.
.0 - Mixer shall be clamp or cup plate mounted, with adjustments available in both horizontal and vertical planes. Alternate mounting (FRO) - square base with vibration isolators and optional angle risers.
.0 - Gears are grease lubricated for 5 years. A double lip seal prevents leakage.
.0 - Bearings are sealed and never require lubrication. A third seal at the lower bearing prevents process media from fouling the bearing or shaft coupling.
.0 - Motor shall be energy efficient, sealed ball bearing, TEFC enclosure, with Class B (or F) insulation, and a 1.15 service factor. Motors shall be standard NEMA 56C faced with standard horsepower ratings.
.0 - Mixer shafts shall be precision centerless ground of 316 stainless steel construction. Shaft attachment by a precision quill coupling providing a broad contact area and multiple pairs of set screws tightened down against flats on the shaft.
.0 - Mixing impellers shall be 3-blade XTF3 hydrofoil design, 316 stainless steel construction, providing maximum flow per -unit horsepower. Alternate impellers will be 1.0 pitch 3-blade propellers, 316SS.
.0 - Mixer shall be Series RG or FRG as manufactured by EMI / Eastern Mixers, Clinton, CT.
