"Kobe" High Pressure Methanol
High pressure methanol injection is a niche application for the "Kobe" pump, one which appears to be very successful. A methanol test installation is being conducted now at the request of a major Gulf Coast Producer. The test pump was set up to demonstrate a minimum 300 hour service test at Trico's Lafayette facility. As of September 25, 1992, this pump has in excess of 700 hours operation without measurable leakage in services at 10,000 PSIG and higher. A second pump will be utilized by Southwest Research Labs in their "Deep Stars" development project. Since the Lafayette pump is expected to remain in service for some time to come, we would invite interested engineers to visit this facility to see the "Kobe" pump in service.
